MPhA is the link to numerous state and national pharmacy organizations and other health care professions. In addition, the association has a presence in the Division of Medicaid and is represented on the State Board of Pharmacy and Board of Health. Four of our member-pharmacists serve in the Mississippi Legislature.
Appointments to the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy are made by Governor Barbour from a list of five applicants submitted by MPhA. Each congressional district is represented by a pharmacist who serves a five-year term, which is staggered throughout the districts. The Board of Pharmacy and MPhA are committed to a positive, viable relationship.
