Advocate
MPhA is the voice for pharmacy in the federal government and United States Congress as well as the Mississippi executive office and legislature. We have a Government Affairs committee, which introduces legislation in support of pharmacy and testifies against legislation in opposition of pharmacy. Each legislative session we maintain a constant watch at the Capitol to make sure your voice is heard.
MPhA currently has four members who also serve as legislators including Rep. Forrest Hamilton, Rep. Bobby Howell, Rep. John Read, and Rep. Nolan Mettetal. MPhA’s members interests are well represented in all aspects of government. Every year we
spend a day at the capitol for our members to visit with legislative leaders. Our next Capitol Day will be held Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012.
Current MPhA 2012 Agenda
Currently MPhA's government affairs committee is working on prescriptive authority, the national drug shortage, PBM audits, and MTM services.
