A pharmacist's first priority is always their patients and, therefore, their community. Here at MPhA, we are always eager to assist our member pharmacists promote the health of our local and state citizens. Here are some of the recent community events MPhA has been involved with:
P2D2 participates in DEA Drug Take-Back Day in McComb
The MPhA staff visited McComb on Saturday, Oct. 29, to support the local efforts for the national DEA Drug Take-Back Day. Members from the community were able to drop off their unused or expired medications to be disposed of properly by the DEA. While the event took place all over the country, long-time MPhA member, Tara Hennington, organized the McComb effort.
MPhA gives flu shots to legislative staff at the Capitol
This fall, MPhA visited the Capitol in Jackson twice to give away free flu shots to the legislative staff members. The shots were donated by MPhA member pharmacists. PY3 and PY4 students from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy administered the shots to representatives, senators and Capitol staff.
