Students
MPhA encourages pharmacy students to be a part of the association. Students can serve on committees, attend continuing education programs, submit articles for publications, and use the MPhA library for research. MPhA also sponsors many student events. MPhA offers opportunities for summer internship, employment and student loans. In addition, MPhA members sponsor several students to attend our annual convention.
Students- Interested in having your academic article published in Mississippi Pharmacist? Submit your 500-1800 word article to Hannah Lewis, editor-in-chief, at hannah@mspharm.org. Please include your full name, education background, hometown, employer/practice setting and a full color, recent headshot. All submissions reviewed by our education committee review board.
MPhA has student members from pharmacy schools around the region, including The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, the McWhorter School of Pharmacy at Samford University, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy, University of Lousiana Monroe College of Pharmacy, the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University.
Upon graduation, MPhA offers a free year’s membership to any new pharmacist who is either practicing in the state or who has graduated from a school in Mississippi.
Each year MPhA members sponsor students to attend our annual convention, which is held in Destin, Florida. Also, MPhA offers opportunities for pharmacy student summer internship.
