Beau Cox, Executive Director
Beau was born and raised in Nettleton, MS. He attended ICC in Fulton, MS for pre-pharmacy coursework and received his PharmD from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 2005. While in pharmacy school, he was active in student body government, Kappa Psi, Phi Lambda Sigma, and during his last year, with the help of friends, created the MS Pharmacist Vehicle License Plate and created the “Amie Lynn Ewing Memorial Scholarship.” His first experience in pharmacy was as a high school senior pharmacy technician at Hall’s Pharmacy in Nettleton. During pharmacy school he was a technician and then an intern for Walmart Pharmacy. After graduation he worked for Walmart Pharmacy in Hernando, MS for 3 years in different roles including staff pharmacist, assistant pharmacy manager, and pharmacy manager. He then moved back home and was pharmacy manager at Super Sav-on Drugs, an independent pharmacy in Okolona, MS, for 2 years. Beau then moved to Brandon, MS and worked at Lincare Home Infusion before taking his current job as pharmacy director at Tara Pharmacy in Pearl, MS, where he has been for the past 8 years. Beau has been a Clinical Instructor with the UM School of Pharmacy since 2007 and a member of MPhA, MSHP, APhA, and NCPA since 2001. He has served in various roles in the Ole Miss Pharmacy Alumni Association, the MS Medicaid DUR Board, and the MS PMP Advisory Committee. He is licensed pharmacist in 7 states and a certified consultant pharmacist. Beau resides in Brandon, MS with his wife Amy, an outpatient staff pharmacist at the GV
Sonny Montgomery VA Hospital in Jackson, MS, and his daughter Maddie. Beau is a member of the Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Jackson, MS, a proud member of the Rankin County Rotary Club, and Vice Chair of the Rankin County Republican Executive Committee. While away from work, Beau enjoys hunting and fishing and just about anything outdoors.
